What Happens When Your Toll-Free Number Becomes Inactive?

A guide on how to keep your TFN active in your Gloo account

We completely understand how important your toll-free number is to your organization, and we want to make sure it stays in your account, even during slow periods. Here's what you need to know about the warning process, how to reactivate a paused number, and how to avoid losing your TFN.

What You Should Expect After No Activity

First Warning: If you haven't sent any messages in 30 days, you'll receive your first inactivity warning both in your account and by email.

Second Warning: If there is still no messaging activity after 45 days, you'll receive a second reminder letting you know your number is at risk.

Third Warning: After 60 days of inactivity, you'll receive a third warning, and your TFN will be paused.

Number Released: If no messages have been sent after 90 days, your TFN will be officially released by our phone number provider.

Note: Unfortunately, there is no guarantee you'll be able to get your same toll-free number back once it is released from your account, so please reactivate your number before the 90 days run out.

What If My Number Is Paused?

Fortunately, a paused number has not been released yet, so you can still reactivate it to continue messaging as usual!

To reactivate your number:

  1. Log into your account at https://app.gloo.us/home.

  2. Locate the paused number notification either in your side navigation menu or in your inbox.

3. Accept the reactivation notice and reactivate your toll-free number.

4. Continue messaging!

Avoiding the Releasing Process

To ensure your TFN stays active, simply send messages regularly! A little messaging goes a long way toward keeping your toll-free number yours.

We also recommend keeping an eye on your account notifications and email reminders so you can take action before your number is paused! If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at support@gloo.us.
