Does Gloo check for duplicate phone numbers among my people?

Updated today

Yes, Gloo typically prevents the creation of duplicate profiles due to its reliance on phone numbers as the primary data point. However, scenarios may arise during synchronization with systems like CCB where duplicate phone numbers may be temporarily linked to multiple profiles. For example, children’s profiles may inadvertently inherit a parent’s phone number. In such cases, Gloo assigns the duplicate number to the most recently synced profile. If reassignment is necessary, you can temporarily replace the incorrect number with a placeholder number before reassigning the appropriate phone number. Placeholder numbers should adhere to your organization’s guidelines to maintain data quality. Additionally, Gloo employs an automatic phone verification process managed by its messaging provider, ensuring seamless validation without requiring customer interaction. To handle unwanted or duplicate profiles created due to syncing issues, Gloo provides both "soft" and "hard" deletion options. Soft deletions flag the profile instead of removing it, while hard deletions require a request to permanently remove all associated data.
