Gloo+ Membership Updates: What's Changing and How to Make the Most of Your Credits

Learn about the August 1, 2026 changes to Gloo+ texting credits, Powerpack pricing, and ways to make the most of your messaging credits.

At Gloo, our mission has always been to serve those who serve, equipping churches with the tools they need to reach and grow their communities. Keeping those tools accessible and affordable is something we take seriously, and that commitment shapes every decision we make about pricing.

As part of that commitment, your first 5,000 texting credits each month are provided essentially at cost. The updates below reflect what it takes to sustain that for the long run, and we want to make sure you have everything you need to communicate effectively within your membership.

What's Changing ✅

Effective August 1, 2026:

Previous

New

Texting credits

15,000/month

5,000/month

Texting Powerpack

$75/month for 5,000 credits

For monthly Gloo+ members: Changes take effect on your next billing date on or after August 1 🚀

For annual Gloo+ members: Your current credit limits are honored through your next annual renewal date - no changes until then. After renewal, your membership will reflect the new limits above. The Powerpack price increase takes effect August 1 for all members, regardless of annual renewal date.

To check your annual renewal date and details about any powerpack subscriptions you have:

  1. Click Profile

  2. Click Account Settings, then click Subscriptions

What Happens When You Run Out of Credits 🔄

Once your monthly texting credits are used, messages will pause until the following month or until you add more credits via a Powerpack. You can check your message balance by clicking on Credit Usage in the bottom left corner, click on your account name & click Credit Usage.

Pro tip 💡: Want to understand your usage patterns before August 1? Head to your Messaging Analytics dashboard. You can filter by This Month, Last Month, or 2 Months Ago to get a clear picture of your typical monthly usage.

Tools Already in Your Membership to Help You Do More

We know 5,000 credits goes a long way for most churches, and for those who send more frequently, there are a couple of newer features already included in your Gloo+ membership that most churches haven't fully explored yet. These tools can help you communicate more efficiently and get the most out of every credit.

Smart Broadcasts: richer messages for fewer credits, and see who opens it

Smart Broadcasts are one of the most powerful and underutilized features in Gloo+.

With a standard broadcast, sending a long message with images or video can use multiple credits per recipient. Smart Broadcasts work differently - instead of sending a long text, a Smart Broadcast sends a single-credit message with a link that opens into a beautifully formatted landing page, complete with images, videos, rich text, and more. It always costs just 1 credit per recipient, no matter how long or detailed the content is.

As a Gloo+ member, you also get engagement analytics - see who opened your message, who hasn't, and how your broadcasts are performing over time. This answers the question ministry leaders ask all the time: "Did people actually see this?"

Smart Broadcasts are ideal for:

  • Weekly updates and Sunday recaps

  • Event announcements and invitations

  • Sermon recaps and devotional content

  • Anything with images, videos, or long-form content

Use Broadcast Analytics to track delivery, measure engagement, and optimize future broadcasts 🚀

Standard broadcasts are still great for:

  • Quick, time-sensitive updates ("Service is canceled today due to weather")

  • Short messages where speed of drafting matters more than richness

Smart Broadcasts include engagement analytics, so you can see who opened your message, track link clicks, and better understand how your audience is interacting with your communication.

Email Credits: a separate channel, included in your membership

Your Gloo+ membership includes 5,000 email credits per month, completely separate from your texting credits. If your congregation has email addresses on file, email is a powerful channel for:

  • Weekly newsletters and announcements

  • Giving campaigns

  • Event details and follow-ups

  • Longer-form content where formatting and design matter

Pro tip 💡: Email also has its own analytics. Track open rates, click rates, delivery rates, and more to understand how your congregation is engaging with your messages.

Memos: evergreen content that never uses extra credits

Memos are a great tool for content your congregation might want to revisit over time - service times, giving links, FAQs, event details, ministry schedules, and more. Think of a Memo as a living digital document you create once and update whenever things change, while the link stays the same.

Since Memos are accessed via a link rather than sent as a text, they don't consume additional credits when your congregation visits them. You can share a Memo link in a broadcast, in a Workflow, or in an individual message, and update the content anytime without having to resend.

Create once, update anytime. Share Memos for service times, giving, FAQs, and more using the same link—without using additional texting credits when members revisit them. Learn more here! 🚀

Workflows: automate your most common communication

Workflows let you set up automated sequences of texts triggered by a keyword or manually by a team member. Once set up, they run on their own, saving you time and making sure the right people get the right information at the right time.

Common uses include:

  • New visitor follow-up sequences

  • Prayer request responses

  • Event sign-up confirmations

  • Onboarding new members

Since Workflows run automatically, they're a great way to stay connected without having to manually send broadcasts every time. Credits are only used when a Workflow step sends a message. Learn how to setup Workflows here!

Messaging Powerpacks for more texting credits

If you find you need more texting credits in a given month, you can add a 5,000-credit Messaging Powerpack for $75 at any time, even mid-month. Powerpacks auto-renew monthly but can be cancelled anytime, so you're never locked in.

Email Powerpacks are also available if you need additional email credits.

To add a Powerpack, visit your subscription settings under Profile -> Account Settings -> Subscriptions.
