Great news! You can use your Gloo account to send and receive images and videos via text! A picture is worth a thousand words, so send away!
From inspiring pictures to heartfelt greetings to first time guests to mid-week devotionals, adding pictures and videos to your messages makes your communications more personal and impactful.
Let's walk through the different things you can attach to your Gloo text messages.
Note: The below features can currently be used in individual text messages and in Workflows. The behavior will be slightly different in Broadcasts, Surveys, and Automations, but expect it to be fully functional across all features soon!
Uploading an existing image or video
You can attach existing pictures or videos to any of your messages in Gloo, whether you are using a free account or a Gloo+ account.
Type out any text you want to include and click the Attach Media icon.
Select the Upload option.
Drag and drop your image or video file, or select Browse to find the image you want to include.
For images, supported file types include .jpeg, .gif, .bpm and .png, and the maximum size is 525 kB. If the file is too large, the system will require you to crop your image.
For videos, supported file types include .mp4 and .mov, and the maximum upload size is 500MB.
Note: Normal images with a .gif file type are supported, but moving/animated GIFs that often appear online are not supported at this time.
Resize accordingly and click Crop. If your image doesn't need to be cropped, just click Skip to upload.
Review the message and continue sending as usual!
If your file is an image, you'll see a preview in the message box. Your contacts will receive any text you enter in, as well as the image.
If your file is a video, you'll see a preview and a shortened link in the message box. Users who receive the video can click the link to view the video.
Record a video on the spot- only for Gloo+ members!
Many times it can be effective to record and send a video on the spot! Whether you want to send out an announcement, an encouraging devotional, or just a simple and heartfelt message to an individual, consider upgrading to a Gloo+ account to unlock this powerful and simple feature!
Note: This features is currently available in individual text messages and in Workflows, but expect it to be fully functional across all features soon!
Navigate to a message thread and click the Attach Media icon.
Choose the Record option to open your device's camera.
You can use the buttons in the bottom left corner to change cameras (1), turn your microphone on/off (2), or invert the video (3). Once you are ready, click Record to record your video!
When you're finished, click Stop Recording. If you'd like to re-record and correct a mistake, just click Record Again and start over. If you're happy with your video, click Attach Video.
Your video will automatically be attached to the message, along with a link. Click Send to send it! Your contacts will see the video in their text thread, along with a preview and a link to click on to view the whole video.
If you'd like to send the same video to another contact, just copy and paste the link into their message thread and send it along!
Pro tip: Some phones are configured to show video previews when a video message is received, but not all are. To ensure your contacts have context for the video and know it is not spam, we always recommend including some short text beforehand to let them know what the video is.
