How to add Groups in a mobile browser

Updated over a week ago

Groups are a great way to organize your people. Groups make sending out Broadcast messages easier and more effective because you can target the appropriate people with your messaging.

As of April 10, 2024, newly created free Gloo accounts are limited to 3 Groups at a time. This limit applies to Groups created directly in Gloo, as well as Groups created as part of the process of integrating with your ChMS. To use more than 3 Groups, consider upgrading to a Gloo+ membership!

How do I create a new Group?

  1. From the lower left corner tap Messaging then tap People.

  2. From this view tap Groups, then tap Create a Group.

  3. From the dialog box, name your Group and you have the option to provide a description about the Group. Groups can be viewed by all Team Members in your Gloo account or by checking the Make this group private will limit the view to only Admins.

Note: The only way to populate a private group is by a Gloo administrator manually adding people- no one can opt in any other way.

How do I add People to a Group?

  1. Navigate to the Groups page and tap on the Group you'd like to add People too - tap Add People.

  2. From this dialog box, you can select multiple contacts from People that are already in your Gloo account by selecting them in the drop down or you can tap Create Person to add new contacts.

  3. To delete people from a Group, navigate to the Group you'd like to edit & tap the trash icon to delete contacts.

How do I export a Group?

  1. Tap the Group you'd like to export & tap the Download icon - tap Download.

  2. A CSV file will be downloaded to your phone & when you open the file, your device will prompt you what program you'd like to open the file with (i.e. Google Sheets, Excel, Pages, etc).
