While Smart Broadcasts shine in quick, ongoing communication on a daily basis, Memos are all about creating a clean, welcoming space for longer-form content you can easily return to whenever you need it!
Smart Broadcasts
Smart Broadcasts are a simple and effective way to stay connected with your people throughout the week. Instead of sending a long SMS text message, Smart Broadcasts send a clean preview link that opens into a richer messaging experience with things like images, videos, buttons, and branded content — all while typically only using 1 message credit per person per broadcast.
They work especially well for the kind of everyday communication you send all the time like weekly updates, event reminders, prayer requests, ministry announcements, follow-ups, and check-ins. Since you’re not limited by standard SMS formatting, it’s much easier to create messages that feel clear, personal, and engaging this way!
If you have Gloo+, Smart Broadcasts also give you access to helpful engagement insights like open and click rates, so you can better understand how your people are interacting with your messages and what’s resonating most.
Memos
Memos, on the other hand, are a wonderful way to keep important information organized, easy to share, and always up to date for your people. You can think of them like a digital bulletin, ministry hub, or living newsletter that you can continue updating over time instead of recreating from scratch again and again.
They’re perfect for things like weekly service information, event details, giving links, ministry updates, schedules, FAQs, or any content your audience may want to revisit later. Since Memos can be edited at any time, you can simply refresh the information whenever something changes while keeping the same familiar experience for your people.
While you can directly add a memo link to a Standard Broadcast by clicking on the built in memo icon when creating your message, if you want to add a memo link to a Smart Broadcast you will need to visit your Memo page and copy and paste the link to that Memo into your message.
This gives you the best of both worlds: Memos become the go-to tool for polished, long-term content that can be updated anytime, while Smart Broadcasts help you share more content in a cost effective and engaging way whenever needed!
