Sometimes the number of Resources available in the Discover tab can be a little overwhelming. This is why we've arranged things into Kits for you to use. Think of a Kit as a collection of resources around a single strategy. Some Kits may contain several links and videos that are meant to be watched and explored together. Other Kits leverage some of Gloo's messaging features around a central theme. In this article we'll walk through two examples.

What Ministry Leaders Need to Know About AI

This Kit is a course on how pastors can be educated on and take advantage of AI. To find the Kit, just scroll through the Kits section and click on it.

If you click into the Kit, the first thing you'll see is a quick overview of what the Kit contains. Note that you can also click the heart to favorite the Kit for easy viewing later. Any Kit you favorite will show up under your Bookmarks on the Discover home page.

When you scroll down, you will see the 7 total resources that are part of this Kit: 6 videos and 1 download. All you have to do is click "See Video" to watch each of the videos, and "See Download" to download the Slides to go along with them. It's that easy! Everything you need for a full AI course in one easy Kit.

The New Attender Followup Kit

This Kit leverages a few different Gloo Messaging features to help you form a strategy for how to interact with first time visitors at your church.

When you scroll down, you'll see the 3 resources that are part of this Kit: a Keyword Template, a Series Template, and a Download. Let's walk through the whole strategy.

  1. Like the Kit says at the top, the goal of the New Attender Follow-Up Kit is to champion the creation of meaningful relationships between new attenders, your church’s leadership, and the congregation. When someone visits your church for the first time, you want a way to capture their information and engage with them. This can easily be done using Gloo's messaging features by having people text into your Gloo phone number!

  2. The first thing you'll need to do is to set up your Keyword and Series so these features are ready in your Gloo account when new visitors begin texting in. Click See Series.

  3. This will open a panel on the right side with a fully customizable templated texting Series. If you're unfamiliar, a Series is a sequence of text messages that someone can opt into by texting in the correct Keyword- in this case "new here," "first time," "guest," or "new." Once subscribed, a user will receive all 6 messages associated with the series on different days (notice a message is sent immediately when they subscribe, and then Message #1 goes out on Day 2, aka 2 days later, Message #2 on Day 4, etc).

  4. Everything is templated for you, but you are free to make any adjustments you want. Also note that anything in [brackets] should be personalized to your church. Once you have everything the way you like it, just click Save to make the Series active in your account. It will now show up under the Series tab under Messaging.

  5. Ok, great! Now anyone who texts in the keyword will begin receiving the Series messages welcoming them to your church. But there's more- you may have noticed that Message #5 of the Series encourages them to text in another Keyword, "talk," in order to connect with someone. Let's set that up. Go back to the Kit and click See Keyword.

  6. This opens another panel on the right side with a templated Keyword. Again, if you aren't familiar, a Keyword is something you set up in your account that send back a default response whenever someone texts in that Keyword. In this case, the new attender texts in "talk" to say they want to connect with someone, and the system records that for you under your Keywords tab under Messaging, and sends them back a quick response to let them know their message was received. You can then have the correct elder, pastor, or congregant follow up with the new attender!

  7. Now, the last piece of this Kit is a downloadable easy way to get people to opt into the whole Series in the first place. Did you know that you can configure SMS QR Codes that people can scan that automatically open their texting app and fill in a phone number and a message? When you click See Download, you'll be able to download some powerpoint slides to help instruct new attenders to text in and join the Series.

  8. You can use the slides with the QR codes, but make sure to follow our easy guide to generate a new QR code to get them into your correct Gloo phone number! Or you can use the last slide that simply lists your Gloo phone number and encourages people to text in.
