What is the difference?
People refers to the individuals who are part of your church community and have been added to your Gloo Workspace account, including congregants, volunteers, and newcomers. "People" will likely never see your Gloo Workspace account (unless they are also added as a team member) - they simply receive texts from your Gloo phone number and send responses. They can receive Broadcasts, text in Prayer Requests, be included in Groups, and use Workflows. We often use the term People synonymously with the term Contacts.
Team Members, on the other hand, are specifically designated as leaders or administrators of your Gloo Workspace account. They have access to additional features and tools that allow them to manage and oversee the Gloo Workspace account. Their main responsibility is to assist with running the account so that it doesn't fall solely on one staff member. This includes tasks such as adding new members, creating events, and responding to messages and prayer requests.
Another key difference is how People and Team Members are added to your account. Team Members have to be specifically invited one by one via email under the Team Members section of your account settings.
People, on the other hand, can add themselves by texting in, or can be added to your Gloo account by a Team Member via CSV upload, ChMS Integration or being manually added in the People page.
Note: It is not necessary to add Team Members under the People tab in order to send them an invitation via email. However, if you want a Team Member to receive texts from your Gloo number, it is necessary to also add them under the People tab.
We understand that it can be confusing to differentiate between the two, but we hope this explanation helps clarify any confusion. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please contact us by clicking the chat bubble at the bottom right corner of your screen!
